Dear Reader,
We have yesterday taken a little walk around the more centre parts of Kyoto to see what is out there. We know that there would be some interesting places, and indeed there were.
Here are a small review of some of them.
Hope you like it.

Loftman 1981
Loftman 1981;
Where you shop your new wardrobe. There are a few places with a diversity within styles that fits together, and this is one of them.
Friendlily received by Shinichi & Takehiro, we had the grand tour through Loftman. We asked Takehiro what he would say is one of the core features, that would be significant to the store.
-Jeans and everything around it.
He showed us their jeans studio for repair and adjustment fixes, as well as the washers, and tumblers, tastefully hidden within the interior.
Loftman is not only a shop, it’s a place to spend the day, specially if you trust them.
They think you will, they have even supplied the store with a cafe tastefully following the same style as the shop. At one point you have a pair of Japan made vintage jeans in your hands, the next a beer. What could go wrong.
They even have five years staff-worn jeans ready-aged, to go.
The staff is friendly and will attend all your style needs.
Welcome.
Yours truly,
Haberdashery

Sea Bees
Sea Bees;
In a case like this, we think that it might be proper, though rather daring, to use words like Rock on, and equals.
Sea Bees prouds itself of being a European Surplus store, that is an understatement, it is so much more than that.
Once up the stairs, you’re met by sweaters with retro army motives, venturing further in the store you’re struck by possible one of the most amazing boots you’ll ever find. LONE WOLFE SHOES. Let’s face it we do like Red Wing Shoes, amazing, but these are in a class of its own. American made, only to be bought in Japan......
Continuing through the store we find jackets from Buzz Rickson, made by Eastman leather Clothing in Devon England, Who would have known!
So talking about Buzz Rickson, we just have to mention, and also lift our hats of to Garry Eastman of the Eastman Leather Clothing, for making these amazing Jackets.
Back to Sea Bees. Here you can easily spend a few hours, and a few hundred pounds.
B-3 Jacket roughly £470, and the Lone Wolfe Boots £290.
You will enjoy here.

Urban Research
Urban Research;
Is a company with eight subdivisions, it also has shops trading under this name.
Though Urban Research, from time to time can feel a bit like if it is still searching for its identity, it is one of those places where you always will be able to find something that fancies you. This time around we set our eyes on a linen suit. There was also two pairs of beautiful KEDS, in a chukka boots inspired style.

Sou•Sou
Sou•Sou;
This is a Brand with its base in Kyoto, they build on a strong sense for tradition and authentic production. It should be established, that this is a modern take on the very traditional Japanese footwear “Tabi”, and meant to be a modern footwear rather then an reenactor’s choice.
To put this in their own words;
“
We are proud of Japanese time-honored tradition.
Tradition is, we believe, something to cherish proudly.
Something to keep unsullied, yet at the same time for the next generations
to evolve with its DNA inherited.
We live the forefront of Japanese history....
100 % Japanese-made Jikatabi
What we believe is: The Jikatabi as Japanese traditional handicraft,
not as a fashion or work shoes, must be made in Japan,
or really must be produced by factories in the areas where they have dealt
with production of authentic items only.
Only then both consumers and suppliers feel fully satisfied.
This philosophy holds true of all other Japanese handicraft.
Because each place of production has its own cultural background,
traditional skills and sense which have been inherited.
It is essential that local industry fundamentally support its local economy....”
There you have it.
Here are a few sample from the new Sou Sou/ Le Coq Sportif collection, which we find being rather delightful.
Enjoy!
Yours truly,
Haberdashery
